IMPORTANT: This course has several online videos. A High Speed Internet connection is recommended. For slower connections, the printed/mailed version is recommended. 3 Contact Hours Requirements: This course requires a roll of kinesio-tape to complete the lab. You may purchase a roll at cost for training purposes below, otherwise I recommend locating a supplier. This course is an introduction to Kinesio-Taping and is intended for neurological and/or pediatric therapists with little or no experience using Kinesio-Tape. This course teaches the basic principles of applying Kinesio-Tape to neurological conditions including: hyper/hypotonicity, subluxation, postural hypotension, and delayed or impaired motor and reflex development.
Instructor: Joel Desotelle, MS OTR/L
Joel is an occupational therapist who specializes in neurological disorders in children and adults. He received his Bachelors of Science (B.S) degree in occupational therapy from Keuka College (Keuka Park, NY) in 1995 and his post-graduate Masters of Science (M.S.) degree from Misericordia University (Dallas, PA) in 2010. He holds a post-graduate certificate in pediatrics from Misericordia University (2006) and has worked in a variety of settings from out-patient pediatrics to in-patient adults. Joel is an experienced author and instructor who has presented on a wide range of topics including stroke rehab, neuromuscular disorders, autism, sensory dysfunction, dementia, falls, and outcomes-based therapy..

- Subluxed shoulder
- Hyper/Hypotonicity in the Upper Extremity
- Poor posture secondary to Hyper/Hypotonicity in the trunk.
